The incident occurred on 1 September this year. As firefighters from Gromadka reported:
(…) at 4:27 a.m. we were dispatched to a cardiac arrest in our town. Unfortunately, the child could not be saved.
Cardiac arrest is a condition in which the heart suddenly stops pumping blood effectively, leading to the cessation of circulation and breathing.
A few key facts:
-
Causes: most commonly a heart attack, rhythm disorders (ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia), injuries, suffocation, or drowning.
-
Symptoms: loss of consciousness, no breathing or agonal breathing, and no pulse.
-
Time: irreversible brain damage occurs after just 4–5 minutes without circulation.
-
救命: immediate action is crucial – CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and the use of an AED (defibrillator), if available.
That is why it is so important to call for help quickly and begin chest compressions – this can save a life before emergency services arrive.
