A Reader called us: “It concerns Łukasiewicza Street and the parking lot beneath Orka, where those barriers are. Recently, there has been quite a lot of noise there because construction starts shortly after six.”
She added: “Cars park there and try to enter at night.” Recently, at night—as the Reader reported—there was an incident in which the barrier was not opened for approximately three hours.
The complainant: – Cars were pulling up there and the drivers were getting angry. Someone was playing music loudly while waiting for the barrier to be opened.
A motorcyclist was then said to have arrived. The woman: – He waited for some time and called somewhere. The message said that there was no such number.
The Reader stressed that she heard all of this from a balcony on Łukasiewicza Street.
We asked MOSiR about the matter. The centre said:
In response to the report concerning noise related to the opening of the garage gate, we kindly inform you that the parking lot operates according to established rules for the use of subscriber parking spaces.
The garage gate is closed at 11:00 p.m. and opened at 3:30 a.m.
It explains:
In exceptional cases, when entry or exit is necessary during nighttime hours, the gate is opened following prior telephone contact with the technical section. The telephone number is available on the information board at the entrance to the parking lot.
It also notes:
We would like to stress that the parking lot is most often used by regular customers who know the applicable rules, and situations requiring the gate to be opened during nighttime hours occur very sporadically. At the same time, we inform you that to date (28 August—editor’s note: istotne.pl) we have not received any previous reports concerning noise related to the operation of the parking lot.
We assure you that we make every effort to ensure that use of the parking lot is as little disruptive to the surroundings as possible, while maintaining the comfort and safety of our customers.
