At 3:00 p.m., the sports field in Przejęsław filled with residents who took part together in an outdoor Mass. The official opening of the harvest festival took place after the Mass. The Head of Osiecznica Municipality Waldemar Nalazek and the village head of Przejęsław, Katarzyna Bułat, together with invited guests, officially announced the beginning of the harvest festival.
One of the most moving moments was the ceremony of presenting bread baked from this year's grain. It was not only a moving tradition, but also a sign of respect for the people who work the land. The bread, a symbol of agricultural labour, was handed over by harvest festival hosts Lidia Sobecka and Jacek Drozdek and received by the head of the municipality.
Artistic performances and competitions
After the official ceremonies ended, a time of joyful entertainment and folk performances began. From 5:00 p.m., the “Bory” and “Nad Kwisą” ensembles delighted the audience with their performances, bringing the gathered guests into the atmosphere of local traditions. The programme also included the ceremonial announcement of the results of the competition for the most beautiful harvest wreath—eight village councils competed: Osiecznica-Kliczków, Ołobok, Tomisław, Ławszowa, Świętoszów, Parowa, Osieczów and, naturally, the hosts from Przejęsław. As every year, the jury paid attention to craftsmanship and fidelity to tradition.
The winner was the Parowa Village Council. Ołobok took second place, while Osiecznica-Kliczków came third.
Great entertainment and the harvest festival stars
Harvest festival competitions were prepared for all participants, providing residents with plenty of excitement and laughter. Tug-of-war, sack races and a quiz about crops—everyone found something for themselves.
The evening passed to the rhythm of music—from 7:30 p.m., the Kapela Herbutów and Nasza Biesiada bands took over the stage, getting the audience to sing and dance together. However, everyone was waiting most eagerly for the performance by the evening's star, NOWATOR. The concert did not disappoint the dancing and singing harvest festival participants, who enjoyed the biggest hits of disco music.
This year's harvest festival in Przejęsław proved that tradition brings generations together and creates an opportunity for shared joy. It was a day full of emotion, gratitude and warmth, and the local community proved that it knows how to celebrate together—with respect for the land and for one another.
