“After midnight. Fans are singing, Podolanoczka is selling beer, Ukrainians are playing guitars. The police drove around and left. A nightmare almost until dawn,” one of our readers wrote, attaching short recordings from Friday night.
According to the account, a group of people gathered in the area of Asnyka Street and was having a loud time, singing and drinking alcohol. The police were there, but practically did nothing.
Residents stress that such incidents are exceptionally disruptive—especially during the city’s biggest event, the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. The noise reportedly made it difficult to rest almost until the early morning hours. Below, we present a timelapse (accelerated recording) from the night on Asnyka Street. It shows young people having fun until around 2:00 a.m.
The Ceramic Festival attracts thousands of people to Bolesławiec every year. In addition to fairs, concerts and cultural events, the festival is also accompanied by nighttime gatherings in the city center, which—as can be seen—do not always proceed peacefully.
