– Getting around Bolesławiec is terrible at the moment. There are traffic jams everywhere, and the streets are full of cars with license plates from all over Poland. Drivers get lost in the city, force the right of way, suddenly stop or turn around in the most unexpected places – says Marek, a resident of the city center. – It is a direct route to a collision.
– Yesterday I saw three cars barely avoid a crash. People park literally everywhere – on sidewalks, in squares and in areas closed to traffic – writes Anna. – For residents, it is a nightmare, because finding an empty space is almost a miracle.
– Pedestrians are also part of the problem – adds Krzysztof. – They step onto crosswalks or even cross outside them, straight into the path of cars, without looking to see whether anything is coming. In all this confusion, it is really easy for a tragedy to occur.
The chaos on the roads in central Bolesławiec will continue until the end of the event. The police and municipal guards are appealing for particular caution and patience.
