An unusual incident occurred during a social gathering held at one of the properties in Lwówek Śląski. – After the night, one of the participants decided to sleep in an open car parked on the property. In the early morning, while leaving the vehicle, she put on a leather jacket found inside the car and left the area – explains junior aspirant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the Lwówek Śląski District Police Headquarters.

When the owner of the clothing realized that her jacket, worth approximately PLN 1,000, was missing, she notified the Lwówek Śląski Police. Criminal division officers handled the case and just two days later identified and arrested the suspect.

The suspect turned out to be a 43-year-old resident of Lwówek County. The woman was brought to a police unit, where she was charged with theft. During questioning, she admitted to committing the offense.

Under the Criminal Code, theft is punishable by up to five years in prison. Police remind the public that even items seemingly abandoned or left unattended do not lose their value or owner—taking them without permission is a crime.
