The 10th edition of the Regional Easter Dishes Competition, organized by the County Office, the County Council of Rural Housewives’ Clubs and the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre in Bolesławiec with its registered office in Kruszyn, took place on Saturday, 9 April, in the auditorium of the 1st General Secondary School in Bolesławiec. Among the guests were, among others, county governor Cezary Przybylski, deputy county governor Stanisław Chwojnicki, Bolesławiec mayor Piotr Roman, Bolesławiec Rural Municipality head Andrzej Dutkowski and Paweł Zieliński, assistant to MEP Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg.
The event was opened by Olga Burdyna and Grażyna Łucka from the County Council of Rural Housewives’ Clubs. The dishes were judged by a panel consisting of Anna Opała, Mariola Korczowska, Grażyna Wężyk and Ryszard Miziniak.
The first prize in the regional Easter dish category went to the Rural Housewives’ Club from Lipiany. The women from Kraśnik Dolny and Kraśnik Górny came second. Third place went to the women from Bożejowice-Rakowice, who also won the audience award.
In the competition for the most beautiful Easter table, the club from Zagajnik won. The women from Łaziska came second, while the women from Zebrzydowa came third. The judges also awarded special prizes: to the Rural Housewives’ Club from Raciborowice for żur soup and pork neck from a bread oven, and to the Rural Housewives’ Club from Kierżno for the table’s artistic presentation.
The event was enhanced by performances by pupils of the Primary School in Trzebień and the Primary School in Dąbrowa Bolesławiecka, under the supervision of Anny Charewicz, as well as by the Zagajnik folk ensemble.
