On July 18, 2025, a field meeting was held in Trzebień between Bolesławiec County Starost Tomasz Gabrysiak and Magdalena Czafurska-Dziak, Director of the Water Catchment Area Authority of the State Water Holding Polish Waters in Lwówek Śląski. The purpose of the visit was to check the progress of work on repairing the flood embankments.
The investment commissioned by the State Water Holding Polish Waters is the result of the Starost’s consistent efforts. He repeatedly appealed for the urgent protection of the damaged sections of the embankments following the flood in September 2024. The greatest damage occurred in Golnice, Trzebień and Parkoszów.
As a result of these efforts, the County Building Supervision Inspector issued an administrative decision ordering the repairs to be carried out. Polish Waters announced a tender for the works, and after the tender procedure was completed, implementation of the investment began.
The work is proceeding according to schedule and—as announced—will be completed within the next month.
The modernization of the embankments is crucial to ensuring residents’ safety and protecting against future flood risks.
