Temporary border controls have been in place at the Polish-German border for a week, carried out by officers of the Nadodrze Border Guard Unit. – These operations are conducted in cooperation with the police, Military Police, Territorial Defence Forces and other services – emphasises Second Lieutenant of the Border Guard Paweł Biskupik, press spokesperson for the Nadodrze Border Guard Unit. – Joint operations by the services enable effective control of border traffic while ensuring the safety of residents of border regions and people crossing the border.

As part of the temporary border control in the area of responsibility of the Nadodrze Border Guard Unit (Lubusz and Lower Silesian Voivodeships), more than 22,000 people and over 10,000 vehicles have already been checked. Due to a lack of documents authorising them to cross the border, 21 foreign nationals were refused entry into Poland – including citizens of Afghanistan, Syria, Russia, Turkey, Pakistan and Moldova.

Spokesperson: – In addition, 24 foreign nationals from, among others, Afghanistan, Morocco, Ukraine, Georgia and Belarus were detained for attempting to cross the border in violation of the regulations.

We remain committed to fighting the organisers of illegal migration. On Friday, 11 July, another smuggler – a Ukrainian national – was detained in Zgorzelec. Since the beginning of the year, nearly 40 people have already been detained and charged with organising or aiding illegal crossings of the state border.
