The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 8, in one of the stores in Lubań. During his shopping, a 38-year-old man placed various products in a shopping cart and then left it by the exit. After a while, a 44-year-old man approached the cart and pushed it out of the store.

The cart was filled to the brim: with everything from cleaning products and food items to potted flowers. The value of the goods was estimated at more than 3,000 zlotys. A security guard noticed the entire incident, detained the 44-year-old man and handed him over to the police. Meanwhile, the other man left the store.
While reviewing the surveillance footage, Lubań police officers determined what the second perpetrator looked like. Shortly afterward, a police officer noticed a man matching the description from the recording. He followed the suspect, checked his identity and detained him. What is more, our local man was carrying drugs.
Both residents of Bolesławiec County spent the night in a police cell. Both face up to five years in prison. The younger man will also be charged in connection with the drugs.
