Family benefit

The family’s monthly income may not exceed PLN 504 per family member—or PLN 583 per family member in the case of a benefit for a child with a moderate or severe disability.

Benefit amounts:

  • PLN 43 for the first child
  • PLN 53 for the third child
  • PLN 66 for the fourth and each subsequent child

Family benefit supplements

Supplements are available only to persons entitled to the family benefit and are granted in the following situations:

  • birth of a child—PLN 500
  • care of a child during parental leave—PLN 400
  • single-parent upbringing of a child and loss of entitlement to unemployment benefit—PLN 400 (only until the child reaches 7 years of age)
  • single-parent upbringing of a child—PLN 170, or PLN 250 for a child with a disability
  • education and rehabilitation of a child with a disability—PLN 50 for a child up to 5 years of age, PLN 70 after reaching 5 years of age and up to 24 years of age
  • commencement of the school year—PLN 90
  • the child beginning education outside their place of residence—PLN 80 if the child lives in another locality, PLN 40 to cover travel costs from the place of residence to school

Care benefits

The care allowance amounts to PLN 144, regardless of the family’s income.

The care benefit amounts to PLN 420; the family’s income may not exceed PLN 583 per family member. This benefit is granted to persons who have given up employment in order to care for a child with a disability.

The benefits are paid by the Municipal Social Welfare Centre at 7 Cicha Street.
