In Lower Silesia, controls will be reinstated at the motorway border crossing in Jędrzychowice (A4), one of the busiest in the region. Both passenger and freight traffic will be subject to random checks carried out by the Border Guard.

Disruptions on the A4

The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways announces that the following may occur in the Jędrzychowice area:

  • speed limits,
  • lane restrictions,
  • temporary stops for vehicles in parking areas to carry out checks.

Drivers, especially professional drivers, must expect longer waiting times. However, the measures are to be carried out as smoothly and in as coordinated a manner as possible.

Appeal to Use Other Crossings

Dolnośląski Urząd Wojewódzki recommends that drivers use less congested border crossings, such as:

  • Radomierzyce,
  • Sieniawka,
  • Porajów.

The aim is to reduce traffic intensity on the A4 motorway and ensure smoother travel for people travelling locally.

New Solutions and Planned Changes

The provincial authorities announce the implementation of additional measures:

  • an online system providing information about waiting times at border crossings,
  • the redevelopment of Solidarności roundabout in Zgorzelec, which currently constitutes a bottleneck for local and transit traffic,
  • the possibility of creating a buffer lane on the A4 motorway in the Jędrzychowice area.

The planned changes are intended not only to minimise disruptions but also to improve safety and comfort for all road users.

Information for Travellers

The Ministry of the Interior and Administration assures that checks will be carried out randomly and that the services will strive to maintain smooth traffic flow. Travellers are asked to prepare their identity documents and be patient in the event of increased traffic.
