Yesterday, community police officers from Nowogrodziec and Osiecznica detained three intoxicated cyclists while patrolling municipal areas. The cyclists committed offences while riding their bicycles.

In Osiecznica Municipality, a community police officer detained a 69-year-old and a 32-year-old; in the neighbouring municipality, a 68-year-old man was riding along the road. All were intoxicated. Tests showed that each man had approximately 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system.

We remind you that riding a bicycle after consuming alcohol, meaning with a level from 0.2 to 0.5 per mille, carries a PLN 1,000 fine. When a cyclist is intoxicated, meaning the alcohol level in their system is higher than 0.5 per mille, the fine increases to PLN 2,500.

An intoxicated rider poses a serious threat not only to themselves but also to other road users.
