The incident took place on Thursday, June 26. Officers from the Police Station in Gryfów Śląski quickly arrived to intervene and proceeded to establish the perpetrator’s identity.
It turned out that the 34-year-old resident of Lwówek County was not only responsible for stealing candy, but was also wanted by the justice system to serve a prison sentence.
The man had previously committed property-related offenses, including numerous thefts.
After his identity and wanted status were confirmed, he was arrested and taken to a remand center, where he will serve the sentence previously imposed.
Police remind the public that even minor offenses can have serious consequences. Thanks to the vigilance of the store employees and the officers’ efficient intervention, it was possible not only to prevent further losses but also to detain a person hiding from criminal responsibility.
