Scandalous theft in the city centre! He stole a parasol worth PLN 3,000 and sold it for a hundred. Thief arrested, receiver charged

Bolesławiec criminal investigators arrested a man who stole a parasol from the outdoor area of a restaurant. Police:

In the middle of the night, a 40-year-old man walking through the city centre noticed a large parasol, decided to take advantage of the opportunity and take someone else’s property. He knew that, given the time of year, he would have no problem selling the loot. He offered the outdoor restaurant parasol, worth PLN 3,000, for just PLN 100.

The woman who took advantage of this exceptional opportunity acquired property originating from a crime. Police: – The parasol was recovered; it was already being used by its new owner.

Residents of Bolesławiec were charged:

• The 40-year-old will answer for theft; the man had previously been convicted of property-related offences.
• The woman was charged with handling stolen goods.

Both theft and handling stolen goods are punishable by up to five years in prison.
