On 11–13 June, a team of rescuers from the Military Fire Service of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade in Świętoszów took part in the WODA International Medical Rescue Exercises, organized by the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Jelenia Góra.
Uniformed services:
The exercises for the participating teams took place over three days in Karkonosze County and consisted of two nighttime and six daytime scenarios:
- a lecture on water rescue,
- a fall from a height at a waterfall,
- a foreign object embedded in a limb, abnormal vital signs,
- a drowning victim, cardiopulmonary resuscitation in a body of water,
- injury after a jump from a railway viaduct, a severed spinal cord in the cervical region,
- a bite in rugged terrain,
- a motorcyclist accident,
- a seizure, a limb fracture, evacuation in difficult terrain,
- a terrorist attack at the Provincial Hospital Center of the Jelenia Góra Valley, a mass-casualty incident.
The drills involved 22 teams, 85 rescuers, and approximately 60 simulated casualties and instructors.
Unit: – The scenarios were carried out under the supervision of experienced State Medical Rescue System rescuers. For Military Fire Service firefighters, this was part of advanced training in providing qualified first aid and cooperating with other rescue entities as part of the operation of the Military Fire Service within the National Rescue and Firefighting System.
