– Thank you to everyone whose presence, help and heartfelt support made this day so special. Together, we are showing that foster parenting has tremendous support and importance in Bolesławiec County – said Bolesławiec County Starost Tomasz Gabrysiak during the picnic.
The picnic was not only an opportunity to have fun together, but also a way to express gratitude to foster families – particularly professional foster families and those running family children's homes – for their daily effort, dedication and love. It was also a time to share the joys, as well as the concerns, that often accompany foster parenting.
Many attractions were prepared for children and their caregivers – games, workshops, competitions with prizes and surprises. The activities were led by the reliable Agata Nikodem from the “Foremka” workshop, who enthusiastically conducted the games; thanks to her, smiles remained on the faces of both the youngest and the older participants throughout the day. After the successful activities, refreshments awaited everyone. Special thanks go to the foster families who brought homemade baked goods, enriching the atmosphere of the shared celebration.
The demonstrations and meetings with local services – the County Police Headquarters, the County Fire Service Headquarters and Bolesławiec Forest District, which organized interesting and educational workshops – attracted particular interest. Meeting the police K9 service dog, Forma, caused great excitement, as the children enthusiastically tried to take her favorite ball away. The visit of Commissioner Leo, a friendly police mascot, was another major attraction.
The event was also attended by the Second Deputy Chair of the Bolesławiec County Council Antoni Stec, County Board Member Alina Zarembecka, County Board Member Maciej Marnicki, Chair of the Health Committee Julia Lisiecka-Sarbak, Head of the Citizens’, Social Affairs and Health Department Katarzyna Grzelczyk and Coordinator for Persons with Disabilities Łukasz Januszke, who presented prizes and certificates to participants in the art competition “My Happiest Day.” All participants received gifts, while the authors of the honored works received prizes.
The entire event was organized by employees of the County Family Support Center in Bolesławiec, headed by Justyna Ziółkowska, the institution’s director. Thanks to their commitment and warmth, they succeeded in creating an atmosphere full of warmth, community and joy. The PCPR staff worked together to organize the event for families who care for the well-being of children every day with love and dedication.
