The journey from Wrocław to Świnoujście will take 5 hours and 7 minutes. It is a convenient and environmentally friendly alternative to a long and tiring car journey. The service will be operated by a modern, articulated Impuls train offering key amenities: air conditioning, Wi-Fi, power sockets by the seats and ample space for travellers with children or bicycles.
KD focuses on interregional connections
“The enormous interest in the connection to Świnoujście was a very positive surprise for us, which is why we decided to launch it again, meeting the expectations of both Lower Silesia residents and tourists. Importantly, more than 7,500 passengers used it last year—not only residents of Lower Silesia, but also people from Lubusz and West Pomeranian Voivodeships. This is the best proof that railways can connect regions and people,” says Damian Stawikowski, president of Koleje Dolnośląskie.
The trains in their yellow-and-black livery will run from 21 June to 31 August, every summer weekend, as well as on 19 June and 15 August—in both directions, carrying passengers from Wrocław to Świnoujście. The route will pass through the main cities of western Poland, stopping at the following stations: Wrocław Główny – Legnica – Lubin – Głogów – Zielona Góra Główna – Szczecin Dąbie – Międzyzdroje – Świnoujście.
Not only to the seaside—rail returns to Karpacz after 25 years
KD Premium Nadmorski is not the only option for summer travel. A trip to the Karkonosze and Sudetes may be just as attractive—especially as trains will soon return to Karpacz.
The last train reached this charming town in 2000. Now, after 25 years, trains are returning to the mountain resort. This is another railway connection in Lower Silesia restored by the Self-Government of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship; thanks to it, trains will once again reach towns inhabited by a total of 13,000 residents of Lower Silesia.
Connections to Karpacz will thus become another destination in the Karkonosze served by Koleje Dolnośląskie trains. Direct services already connect Wrocław with Szklarska Poręba, while in Jelenia Góra passengers can change to trains bound for Świeradów-Zdrój and—soon—the aforementioned Karpacz. This opens up further opportunities for comfortable sightseeing in the region.
The fastest KD Sprinter services from Karpacz to Jelenia Góra will cover the route in just 18 minutes, while the fastest journey from Wrocław will take only slightly more than 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Koleje Dolnośląskie will operate 12 pairs of services per week and 14 at weekends. Four weekend services will be operated by historic trains belonging to the Klub Sympatyków Kolei in cooperation with KD, meaning that the route will receive the region’s first regular heritage service. Currently, a similar solution operated at weekends by Koleje Wielkopolskie on the Wolsztyn–Poznań route attracts tourists from all over the world.
Tickets for all services, including KD Premium Nadmorski, will be available through the KOLEO app, at KD ticket offices and from the train crew.
