As reported by the Bolesławiec firefighters:
May 2025 was a special month for the Komenda Powiatowa Państwowej Straży Pożarnej w Bolesławcu, filled with firefighting ceremonies during which the headquarters received, among other things, three significant distinctions.
The county commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, Senior Brigadier Andrzej Śliwowski, participated in all the events and, on behalf of the Bolesławiec firefighters, accepted thanks and distinctions awarded for their commitment, cooperation and many years of work for fire protection.
What were the Bolesławiec firefighters honored for?
During the Powiatowych Obchodów Dnia Strażaka w Bolesławcu (May 22), the headquarters received commemorative thanks from the Association of Retired Fire Service Officers and Pensioners of the Republic of Poland in Lower Silesia on the occasion of its 30th anniversary.
Two days later—on May 24—during the Gminnych Obchodów Dnia Strażaka w Wykrotach, Commander A. Śliwowski received recognition for cooperation and support in activities undertaken to ensure the safety of the residents of Gmina Nowogrodziec.

The culmination of this series of ceremonies was participation in the Provincial Firefighter’s Day celebrations, held on May 25 in Wrocław. During the ceremony, the County Commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec—Senior Brigadier Andrzej Śliwowski—received from Brigadier General Paweł Frysztak, Deputy Chief of the State Fire Service, a Commemorative Diploma from the Chief of the State Fire Service, awarded on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the National Rescue and Firefighting System.
