On Saturday, May 24, 2025, celebrations of Municipal Firefighters’ Day were held in Wykroty. The ceremony was hosted by Wiktoria Wrzeszcz. The ceremony commander was firefighter Rafał Fajkowski, while the report announcing the start of the ceremony was received by firefighter Waldemar Wojtaś—a member of the Presidium of the Main Board of ZOSP RP in Warsaw.

After the president inspected the units, the national flag was raised and the anthem was played. Then, the President of the Municipal-Urban Branch of ZOSP RP in Nowogrodziec, firefighter Eugeniusz Pańków, spoke.

Municipal and City Office of Nowogrodziec:

One of the most important moments of the ceremony was the handover of a new fire engine to OSP Wykroty—an investment that will significantly improve residents’ safety and the effectiveness of rescue and firefighting operations.

Mayor Joanna Świder offered heartfelt thanks to firefighters Józef Kaca and Mirosław Szuter for more than 30 years of service and commitment to the Volunteer Fire Service structures in the municipality. Municipality: “Letters of congratulations were presented in the presence of President Eugeniusz Pańków.”

Expressions of recognition also went to firefighter Eugeniusz Pańków—for many years of activity at the district and municipal levels and for his enormous contribution to preparing the ceremony. The letter of congratulations was presented by Mayor Joanna Świder together with President Stanisław Żółtański.

In recognition of their daily effort and commitment, OSP units from Czerna, Gierałtów, Godzieszów, Gościszów, Nowogrodziec, Nowogrodziec-Osiedle, Wykroty and Zebrzydowa were honored with financial awards for purchasing rescue and firefighting equipment.

The highlight of the ceremony was the handover of a new rescue and firefighting vehicle to the Volunteer Fire Service in Wykroty. The handover document was read by Wiktoria Żabicka from the Municipal Office, while the keys and documents were received by the unit’s president, firefighter Stanisław Kozioł. The vehicle was blessed by Rev. Dr. Sławomir Kowalski in the presence of its godparents—Joanna Świder and Senior Brigadier Andrzej Śliwowski. After the ribbon was cut, the vehicle was started and its visual and audible warning signals were demonstrated.

The municipality sums up: “There were also thanks for Mayor Joanna Świder herself—for her commitment, presence and heart devoted to the local community.”
