It is worth noting that this document was prepared anonymously (no parent signed it with their first and last name). However, an analysis of the metadata of the files sent to us indicates that Łukasz Molak, a Bolesławiec councillor known for his religious activity, worked on the text. This is important information because it sheds light on possible political and ideological connections that may be behind this reaction. We wanted to ask Łukasz Molak about the matter, but he did not answer our call.

It is also telling that the statement does not deny the existence of the problem even once, namely the presence of an immoral Piarist teacher at the school. On the contrary, the distinction made by the anonymous parents—“the matter does not concern students, lay teachers or the administration”—clearly indicates that they know perfectly well whom the article concerns. And they do not protest against this information. They protest against the fact that it was revealed and that, supposedly, the school was harmed.

This type of reaction—an attack on the media while ignoring the substance of the matter—is typical of church and conservative circles. Instead of addressing the real problem and ensuring safety and transparency for students and parents, the Piarist school authorities divert attention by directing their anger at journalists. And for nearly a year, the school administration had known about the suspicious behavior of one of the Piarist teachers (as established in a direct conversation between the editor-in-chief of istotne.pl and the principal) and had taken no decisive action.

In their letter, the anonymous parents write that “we are defending our children”—but did they really defend their children when a member of the Order leading a double life and engaging in activity they themselves call “scandalous” worked at the school? Would it not have been better if the school and the Order had acknowledged the truth and apologized—first to the parents, then to the students, and finally to the local community?

We appeal once again: start with yourselves instead of expecting journalists to remain silent. Silence in the face of evil is not loyalty—it is complicity.

Statement by the anonymous parents from the Parents’ Council

Position of the Piarist Schools community in Bolesławiec

We strongly protest against the article entitled “A Piarist from Bolesławiec Leads a Double Life,” published on 21 May 2025 on the Istotne.pl portal. This article is extremely harmful, particularly because of its content, which is vulgar and publicly accessible, and its aim is to defame the Piarist School in Bolesławiec and our educational community. This happened through the addition of a photograph of the school.

We will not allow allegations against one undisclosed person to become a pretext for a public lynching of the students, teachers and the entire school community. This has nothing to do with journalism—it is a brutal attack that has crossed all ethical boundaries. Because they were generally accessible, these materials were also read and viewed by our children. This is a traumatic experience for their young and impressionable minds. Why did the authors fail to take this aspect into account at all?

We firmly state that the matter described in the article:

DOES NOT CONCERN THE SCHOOL.
DOES NOT CONCERN THE STUDENTS.
DOES NOT CONCERN THE LAY TEACHERS.
DOES NOT CONCERN THE ADMINISTRATION.
Nevertheless, it is our students and educators who are now being mocked, stigmatized and harmed by the local community.

This article is:

an attacking and defamatory media piece targeting the school community,
full of vulgarities, descriptions of sexual practices and disgusting content,
illustrated with pornographic photographs—available without any age verification.
We demand that the Istotne.pl editorial team:

Immediately remove the shocking photographs.
Stop publicly associating the school with the matter described.
Publish an official apology to the school community of the Piarist School in Bolesławiec.

We are defending our children. We are defending the teachers. We are defending the community. At the same time, we stress that the behavior described in the article is also unacceptable and scandalous to us. But attempting to associate it with children and Catholic education is sheer vileness and media manipulation.

For 12 years, together with the Piarist Fathers, we have been building a school based on values, education and formation. Today, an attempt is being made to destroy all of this with one sensational article. We will not allow it.

The Piarist School in Bolesławiec is a place of high-quality learning, education, safety and trust. We will not allow the dignity we have built over the years to be taken away from us.

WE WILL NOT REMAIN SILENT.

We will not retreat even one step. We will defend our school, our children and our values—always and unconditionally.
