On the Istotne.pl forum, an internet user with the nickname tomasz eR aka Blitzkri3g started a topic titled “Warning: danger” and wrote: “I would like to warn people using the Bank Zachodni ATM on Asnyka Street. The ATM is located beneath a bank sign that is now hanging from just one rusty screw (the other one has fallen out) and is dangerously swaying in the wind directly above the head of the person using the ATM. Please, let someone deal with this, because this is just asking for a tragedy.”
We checked this information and, indeed, the strip attaching the sign to the eave is held by one screw. We reported the fault to the bank branch in Bolesławiec. The bank’s secretariat informed us that the matter was known and had been reported to the office managing all properties belonging to the bank. However, they did not know when someone would secure the sign again.
Our journalist called the bank’s logistics and real estate department in Wrocław. We were referred to Adama Przewłoka, a bank employee. He knew nothing about the fault, but promised to immediately pass the information on to the responsible person and thanked us for reporting the falling sign. He did not specify the exact repair date. He regarded the matter as a priority.
Until the sign is firmly screwed back into place, we advise users of this ATM to look not at their feet, but high up beneath the eave.
