Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters on the incident:

A city resident reported to the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters that he had fallen victim to a robbery two days earlier. The attackers were unknown to the victim. The man testified that, while returning home at night through a park in the city centre, he was attacked by two men, who punched and kicked him all over his body. When he fell to the ground, they took his wallet and mobile phone. The following day, one of the perpetrators used the bank card obtained as a result of the crime to pay for purchases at petrol stations.

Detectives from the Bolesławiec unit immediately undertook a series of actions to identify the people suspected in the case. Police officers arrested a 25-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. It turned out that the perpetrator had previously been convicted of property offences.

The man was brought before the local prosecutor’s office. Robbery is punishable by between 2 and 15 years’ imprisonment. The attacker was acting as a repeat offender, which means that he may face an increased sentence.

The evidence collected provided the prosecutor with grounds to request three months’ pre-trial detention, which the court granted.

The case will continue, as intensive operational activities are under way to arrest the second perpetrator of the robbery.

The Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office is conducting preparatory proceedings against a 27-year-old resident of Bolesławiec, Patryk S., suspected of committing robbery. – The preliminary findings of the investigation show that on 18 April 2025, at approximately 11 p.m., in Bolesławiec, the suspect and another unidentified perpetrator attacked a 52-year-old man walking through a park, intending to rob him – reports Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, press spokesperson for the Jelenia Góra Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

She adds:

To overpower him, they punched him in the head and face, knocked him to the ground and then kicked him in the torso, causing numerous bruises on his head and face and resulting in a health disorder lasting less than 7 days.

She further explains: – Then, when the victim was no longer able to defend himself, they took a mobile phone and a wallet containing PLN 190 in cash, documents and a bank card from his jacket pocket.

The attackers left in an unknown direction. They waited one day and then, during the night of 19–20 April 2025, decided to use the stolen bank card. To do so, they went to several petrol stations in Bolesławiec, where they used it to pay for purchases totalling PLN 443.
