In response to public speculation, an official position has appeared from both the Municipal and Town Office of Nowogrodziec and the head of the municipality, Joanna Świder:
In connection with false information appearing in the public sphere concerning the activities of the Municipal Police in Nowogrodziec, we would like to present current and reliable data.
We inform you that the Municipal Police in Nowogrodziec is operating (emphasis by the editorial team – editor’s note: istotne.pl). A reorganization process related to the recruitment of new employees is currently under way. Today, that is, April 28, 2025, the recruitment procedure for the position of Municipal Police Officer – Trainee has been completed. Mr Daniel Okrzyński, a resident of Wykroty, was selected; he met all formal requirements and demonstrated extensive knowledge of the operation of the Municipal Police, as well as professional substantive preparation.
It is worth recalling that last year recruitment was announced for two positions in the Municipal Police. However, due to the Municipal Council’s decision to allocate funds from the Municipal Police’s activities to other purposes – despite the Mayor’s opposition – it was necessary to cancel that recruitment process and announce it again. At the same time, we point out that at the beginning of the current term, the Municipal Council itself identified the expansion of the Municipal Police as one of the Mayor’s areas of action.
The authorities of Nowogrodziec add:
The current turmoil surrounding the unit’s operation results solely from financial decisions independent of the Mayor. Unfortunately, these decisions cause unnecessary confusion and encourage the spread of false information.

The Municipal Police in Nowogrodziec has a real basis for further operation and development, in accordance with the previously adopted plans.
