The Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket is an offer that allows passengers to use regional trains on all routes within the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. One ticket is enough to board and leave trains multiple times throughout the holiday weekend, making it possible to visit family and see the most important attractions of Lower Silesia over several days.
The ticket is valid from Friday, April 18, at 6:00 p.m. until Tuesday, April 22, at 6:00 a.m. This gives passengers more than three days for unlimited travel throughout the voivodeship—with one ticket, without stress or limits, and with the full convenience of comfortable travel.
“Easter is a time worth spending with loved ones, but it is also a good opportunity to travel around the region. That is why we are extending the validity of the Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket until Tuesday morning,” says Damian Stawikowski, president of Koleje Dolnośląskie.
Tickets can be purchased at kolejedolnoslaskie.pl, at ticket offices in railway stations and in mobile applications such as Koleo.
The fastest regional trains in the country. Shall we go?
Koleje Dolnośląskie currently operates the fastest regional trains in Poland, as journey times have been significantly reduced. This makes it possible to reach, among other places, the Kłodzko Valley quickly. For example, the journey from Wrocław to Kłodzko takes just over an hour, while Kudowa-Zdrój can be reached in two hours. This is important not only from a tourism perspective, but also socially and economically, because residents of the southern part of the voivodeship can reach the region’s largest city comfortably and quickly.
“The Kłodzko Valley is full of tourist gems and places worth visiting. We can reach both spa towns and the vicinity of mountain trails by Koleje Dolnośląskie trains,” says Paweł Gancarz, marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
In the coming years, we will also be able to reach Stronie Śląskie and Lądek-Zdrój by train—for now, however, we can already reach these towns by bus in Koleje Dolnośląskie livery using a railway ticket. Travel to these locations is also possible with the Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket.
“Within the next two years, the railway line from Kłodzko to Stronie Śląskie will be put into service, further improving the rail offer in the Kłodzko Valley. A Koleje Dolnośląskie bus is already operating on this line as a pilot service and will soon be replaced by a train in the white-and-yellow colors of our voivodeship,” says Michał Rado, deputy marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship responsible, among other things, for railways.
Traveling with a bicycle? Important information
In spring and summer, trips with bicycles are popular, such as journeys on the KD Ryszard Szurkowski train, one of the favorites among cyclists and adapted to carry a larger number of bicycles. The train departs from Wrocław Główny for Milicz at 9:44 a.m. and returns at 5:15 p.m.
For other connections, Koleje Dolnośląskie reminds passengers that during periods of increased traffic—especially long weekends and holidays—there may not be enough space for bicycles, including on replacement buses. If there is no room, the train crew has the right to refuse to take a bicycle on board. “We see that many travelers are happy to take their bicycles with them, and we fully understand that. But we ask for your understanding. Regional trains do not require bicycle-space reservations,” adds Bartłomiej Rodak, press spokesperson for Koleje Dolnośląskie.
In 2025, Koleje Dolnośląskie trains will cover 15 million kilometers on the tracks. More than 22 million passengers used them last year. KD has the fastest regional connections in Poland. We can travel on the white-and-yellow trains not only throughout the Lower Silesian Voivodeship—they also take us to Germany and the Czech Republic, as well as to some towns in the Lubusz and Greater Poland voivodeships.
