Update
Bolesławiec police officially on the case:
On the night from Friday to Saturday, Bolesławiec police received a report concerning the use of violence against a driver and the theft of his vehicle. The crime took place in the evening, and the victim decided to report it to the police approximately three hours after the incident.
The actions of officers from Kruszyn led to the discovery of the victim’s car. The vehicle was several streets away from the place where its owner had last seen it. Four teenagers were inside; all were residents of Bolesławiec County.
The car was damaged in many places, its side mirrors had been torn off, and the power tools that the owner had kept in the trunk were missing. All the minors were detained; three were under the influence of alcohol. The 17-year-olds were taken to police custody, while the 16-year-olds were taken to the Police Juvenile Chamber.
The officers add:
Based on the information gathered about the course of events, all the teenagers were charged with stealing power tools, which they took from the trunk and hid in nearby bushes. Criminal investigators located and secured the property. In addition, one of the 16-year-olds was charged with helping to hide the vehicle.
The 17-year-old resident of Warta Bolesławiecka Municipality who used violence against the victim and stole the vehicle will face charges of robbery, driving while intoxicated and—like the others—theft of the power tools.
Four minors—two 16-year-olds and two 17-year-olds—were detained on the night from Friday to Saturday. All four were in the stolen car. The vehicle was taken, as a reader informed us, on Friday evening near MZGK.
All the teenagers were charged with stealing the power tools, which they took from the trunk of the aforementioned car and hid in the bushes.
The group’s ringleader—the 17-year-old—was charged with as many as three charges; in addition to the theft of the tools, he will answer for using violence against the victim and taking the car—a robbery—as well as for driving while intoxicated.
The 17-year-old, who was the spiritus movens of the entire undertaking, faces up to 15 years in prison. The other older detainee could be imprisoned for five years.
The 16-year-olds will answer for their actions before a family court.
