The cover was installed in December last year. Its purpose is to protect the fountain from damage during the months when it is switched off.
Today, April 3, the cover was dismantled. The fountain in the market square will be switched on in May.
Let us recall that the Bolesławiec fountain has been damaged several times in the past. One such incident occurred in 2019. At that time, a waffle vendor drove a car onto the fountain and damaged it.
The weight of the vehicle caused one of the slabs to crack. The situation can be seen in the following archival video:
