I am asking for help renovating the roof and house (in Zabłocie – ed. note: istotne.pl). I care for my ill sister; our parents are deceased. Because of my caregiving responsibilities, I had to give up my job. I also cared for my grandmother, who had cancer. Unfortunately, my grandmother also passed away.
She adds:
I renovated the house on my own, having found it in poor condition after my mother’s death and my brother’s move-out. He could not take over the responsibilities, and I am currently also paying him back. Because of constant breakdowns in the house and problems with the renovation, I fell into debt, and it is difficult for me to repay it. While my grandmother was alive, we somehow managed.
And she explains: – In September 2024, we were evacuated from our home in Zabłocie due to a threat to life and health. During that period, there was heavy rainfall and flooding. We do not live in a flood-prone area, but the heavy rain contributed to damage to the roof, especially the rear of the house; an entire side wall was flooded, a beam sagged, and the ceiling cracked. The rear of the house and the rooms were flooded. My sister, son and I are temporarily staying in social housing allocated by the Nowogrodziec City Office. We would be very grateful for any help. Building materials or anything else would be welcome – anything that would allow us to renovate the house at least enough to live there, because we have nowhere else to go, and our accommodation in Nowogrodziec has only been allocated temporarily. We kindly ask for help and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
