On Village Head Day, Mayor Waldemar Nalazek, Deputy Chairperson of the Regional Assembly Cezary Przybylski and Member of Parliament Szymon Pogoda extended warm wishes to the village heads and village headwomen attending the ceremony. The following took part in the ceremony: Angelika Kołodziej (Parowa), Kazimierz Rowiński (Osiecznica-Kliczków), Katarzyna Bułat (Przejęsław), Andrzej Juryta (Świętoszów), Ewelina Sądaj (Osieczów) Mariusz Jakubowicz (Tomisław), Wanda Orzechowska, Grażyna Kosko, Renata Kunecka, Joachim Radlak. Wishes were also conveyed to those absent from the ceremony: Dawidowi Gałązce (Ławszowa) and Aleksandrze Matwiejczuk (Ołobok).

The guest of honor was Janina Papież from Parowa, who served as village headwoman from 1990 until September 2024. They sang her one hundred years, which moved the honoree. Janina Papież thanked them for the distinction. She conveyed her thanks to the local government officials and to her fellow village headwomen and village heads.

“The village headwoman began her term during a very difficult period,” said Waldemar Nalazek, presenting the village headwoman. “It was not like it is now. In the 1990s, the villages had no sewage systems, and the roads were unpaved and unlit. When I came to Parowa by bus after dark in those days, it was so dark that at first I did not know which direction to take to reach the designated place. These changes are also thanks to the village headwoman, who through her persistence and dedication brought about the transformation of Parowa over more than thirty years. I would emphasize that at that time there were no funds to meet residents’ basic needs, such as building roads. There was also no specialized equipment like there is today. I remember that we arranged for pink sand and a grader, and Mrs. Jasia would get into the grader and show where the holes needed to be filled,” the mayor recalled.

Waldemar Nalazek also highlighted Janina Papież’s community involvement.

“I also want to tell you that Mrs. Jasia not only worked on the development of the village, but also cared for its residents,” said Waldemar Nalazek. “No resident of Parowa was a stranger to her. And I think that through her work and what she did, Mrs. Janina will go down in the history of this village. Everyone will say: during Mrs. Janina’s time, we accomplished this and that. Mrs. Jasia, I warmly congratulate you. Thank you, and I wish you much health and many good things,” the mayor said in his congratulations.

The honorary badge “Distinguished for the Lower Silesian Voivodeship” was presented to Janina Papież, village head of Parowa, by Cezary Przybylski, deputy chairperson of the Regional Assembly, who attended the ceremony.

“The role of village heads is truly enormous,” said Cezary Przybylski. “They are the mayor’s strong arm. Village heads are the people who help mayors listen to residents and learn about their problems and needs. Your contribution to the development of Osiecznica Municipality is truly enormous. It is a model municipality. This is also because you support the mayor. Please accept the sincere expression of great appreciation from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship government. We should also remember and be proud that Lower Silesia is the fastest-developing region in Poland and a significant region of the European Union. On this occasion, I would like to warmly thank the village heads for this. I wish you satisfaction from your work and the conviction that you are truly doing great things. They may be minor on a European scale, but they are what make up our success and development—and that is what life is about,” added Cezary Przybylski.
