The artwork on the Parcel Locker on Jana Pawła II Street was created by Bolesławiec resident – Amelia Nowak, who won last year’s InPost competition, taking first place. Participants in the competition announced by the postal operator had to create a work thematically connected with their city.
In the case of Bolesławiec, the artist referred to the Bolesławiec skatepark and Bolesławiec ceramics. Competition was fierce, as a total of 7,000 works were submitted. The work by the Bolesławiec resident proved unbeatable.
The winner received a computer and small gifts. As a prize, her artwork appeared on an InPost Parcel Locker in Bolesławiec. Amelia’s work can also be seen on artinpost.pl/wyniki
As we read on the competition organizer’s website:
(...) During the assessment of the competition entries, our Jury took into account the interpretation of the theme, the idea behind presenting local identity, the specific nature of the area, the symbolism used and the style of the work. At the same time, the composition, aesthetics of the work and consistency of the message with InPost brand values were also important in the assessment. The Jury selected five winners of the main prizes! At the same time, it decided to recognize five additional works which, in the Jury’s opinion, presented local identity in an exceptionally original and interesting way.
As can be seen, Parcel Lockers are not only functional parcel collection points, but also aesthetic elements of public space. They can now be found in various colors and patterns, which makes them stand out against their surroundings.
Designers are increasingly introducing innovative solutions so that Parcel Lockers harmonize with the character of the place where they stand – from subdued shades to bright, eye-catching color combinations. Such changes not only improve their appearance but also make using them more pleasant.
