The aim of the operation is to make drivers aware of the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol, the risk of causing a road accident or collision, and the criminal liability for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or a similarly acting substance. We remind you that even the smallest amount of alcohol in the body reduces concentration and delays a driver's reaction time.

Pursuant to Article 178a of the Criminal Code, driving while intoxicated is punishable by a fine, restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to 3 years. However, this is not the most important point; what matters is that many innocent people still die on Polish roads precisely because of intoxicated drivers.

During the operation, police officers will check drivers in different locations simultaneously. The priority is to detect and remove from traffic people who get behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol or a similarly acting substance.

It should be emphasised here that driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs makes safe participation in road traffic impossible and is prohibited by law. Driving requires visual-motor coordination, because most of the information reaching a driver while driving is visual. Therefore, alcohol and similarly acting substances significantly impair coordination of movement, lengthen the driver's reaction time, impair vision, restrict the field of view, and cause incorrect assessments of distance and speed.

Do not drink alcohol if you plan to drive a vehicle. Do not offer alcohol to someone who intends to drive. Do not let yourself be persuaded to ride in a car driven by someone who has been drinking alcohol.

We remind you that the only reliable method of determining the alcohol concentration in the body is a test using an electronic device with the appropriate “legalisation”. Such a test can be carried out, among other places, at most Police units.
