The County Gymnasium Schools Handball Championships are now behind us. On Thursday, February 10, the final matches of the competition were played. In the girls’ category, the team from Gymnasium No. 1 in Bolesławiec proved to be the best, playing in the following lineup: Natalia Majkut, Natalia Bilińska, Kinga Ślusarczyk, Karolina Witkowska, Katarzyna Sadlak, Amelia Ziółkowska, Angela Żuraw, Agata Nastalska, Oliwia Budzińska, Natalia Topolska and Kornelia Fabiańska. The team’s coach is Monika Fabin. The handball players from Nowogrodziec took second place, while representatives of the Gymnasium in Iwiny came third.
In the boys’ category, the county championship was won by the players from the Gymnasium in Nowogrodziec, who played in the following lineup: Fabian Fiedorczuk, Piotr Potocki, Igor Oleński, Łukasz Krawczyń, Remigiusz Różniczki, Jakub Kosior, Dawid Kopała, Kacper Gaziarz, Adrian Paruch, Paweł Ładocha, Mateusz Pugacz, Damian Bober, Bartosz Loraj, Bartosz Kojder, Kamil Górny and Andrzej Rzeźnicki. The team’s coach is Dariusz Marek. The team from GS No. 1 took second place, while the representatives of the Gymnasium in Iwiny came third.
Both championship-winning teams advanced to the zone-level competition. The tournament was organized by the Inter-School Sports Centre, which operates within the structures of the County Centre for Education and Staff Training.
