As a result of the search, the officer found 277 rounds of various types of ammunition, 2 grenades and marijuana from which approximately 150 saleable doses could have been produced. The man was immediately detained and taken to a police cell.

The secured ammunition and grenades were submitted for further examination to determine their exact origin and intended use. Police officers also secured the narcotics.

The 47-year-old will face charges related to possessing illegal ammunition, explosives and drugs. Mere possession of ammunition without the required permit carries a penalty of up to 8 years’ imprisonment, while additional sanctions apply for possessing narcotics.

Police remind the public that every case of possessing firearms, ammunition or explosives without the appropriate authorization is a crime and is subject to severe penalties.
