Unfortunately, not all drivers are yet aware of the danger posed by driving at excessive speed. This time, officers from the Legnica traffic police noticed a Hyundai whose driver committed a series of road traffic offences, thereby creating a safety risk for other road users.
The man behind the wheel ignored the applicable regulations by overtaking on a double solid line and in a place where overtaking is prohibited, and significantly exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area. It also turned out that the driver was not wearing a seat belt. The 40-year-old received a total fine of PLN 2,300 for the offences committed, and 36 penalty points were added to his record, consequently resulting in the loss of his driving licence.
The police continue to appeal to drivers to exercise caution and take their “foot off the accelerator”. Recklessness, exceeding the speed limit and alcohol are still factors that drivers must eliminate from their behaviour. Sometimes a single decision can affect a person’s life or health.
