The pastoral visit took place as part of the pastoral ministry guaranteed by law, which is provided on a daily basis by the facility’s chaplain, Rev. Rafał Berezowski, supported by members of the Prison Brotherhood.
The bishop celebrated Mass and met with some of the detainees in their cells, providing an opportunity for conversation and blessing. During the visit, the bishop prayed for a fruitful experience of Advent and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of the Lord, stressing that people staying behind the walls should not be forgotten.
The bishop also received a gift: a painting made by one of the detainees. Works created as part of the 15th nationwide art competition “Wishes Straight from the Heart” for the most beautiful Christmas card were also presented. Detainees from all over Poland, residents of Nursing Homes, and students from Jelenia Góra schools took part in the competition.
