On Thursday, December 5, a follow-up inspection by the education authority was held at the primary school in Gościszów. Its purpose was to verify whether the recommendations issued after the two-day ad hoc inspection in October 2024 had been implemented.
“I confirm that, for various reasons, it was not possible to carry out the so-called follow-up inspection three times,” reports Joanna Świder. “This morning, I personally went to the school and ensured that principal Aneta Polak allowed the education authority representatives to conduct the follow-up inspection. The procedure took place without my presence,” the mayor adds.
This situation raised concerns both among the school’s employees and the supervisory authorities. We wrote about the matter in the article School principal avoids inspection. Education authority: this is a precedent.
The October ad hoc inspection revealed a number of irregularities. As a result, recommendations were issued concerning, among other things, the organization of the school’s work, which should have been implemented immediately: ensuring students’ safety during breaks, compliance with the functions of the teachers’ council, organizing psychological and pedagogical assistance and appropriate individual instruction, as well as cooperation with all school bodies, including the Parents’ Council, in carrying out their duties.
We will report on the results of the December 5 inspection as soon as we receive information from the Wrocław Education Authority.
