On 11 November 2024 , inspectors from the Lower Silesian Road Transport Inspection – due to the restrictions on the movement of heavy goods vehicles in force on that day – carried out inspections on the A4 motorway.

Inspectorate: – Twenty-eight vehicle combinations with a gross vehicle weight of more than 12 tonnes were selected for inspection. All the vehicle combinations stopped for inspection were travelling on a public road during the hours when the traffic ban for the above-mentioned vehicles was in force (8:00–22:00), and neither the cargo they were carrying nor the nature of the transport was exempt from the ban.

The result? Inspectors: – The road transport was prohibited until the traffic ban on vehicles was lifted. The drivers were issued penalty fines, while administrative proceedings were initiated against the businesses and the persons managing the transport concerning the imposition of financial penalties.

Wrocław Road Transport Inspection emphasizes:

One registration certificate was also seized due to the vehicle’s poor technical condition. The “record-holder” in this dubious distinction was a Romanian driver who, after a very large number of violations were uncovered, was issued 60 penalty fines and administrative proceedings were initiated against the company for an amount exceeding PLN 119,000.

It should be stressed that the violations concerned breaches of the rules relating to driving time, breaks and rest periods.
