On November 10, KD trains will return to the route from Strzelin to Kłodzko Miasto.
– Passengers will surely be pleased to have the option of reaching Kłodzko from Wrocław via the shortest route. However, on the Kamieniec Ząbkowicki–Kłodzko Miasto section, passengers will need to transfer to diesel-powered vehicles. Following the flood that affected, among other places, Ziemia Kłodzka, work on the catenary network is still ongoing – explains Bartłomiej Rodak, press spokesperson for Koleje Dolnośląskie.
Diesel-powered vehicles will run between Kamieniec Ząbkowicki and Kłodzko Miasto through December 14, inclusive. It is only from Sunday, December 15, that PKP PLK plans to complete work on the catenary network along the entire section – as far as the Czech town of Lichkov.
As a result, replacement buses will run on the Kłodzko–Międzylesie–Lichkov (CZ) section through December 14. The situation is similar on the line to Kudowa-Zdrój: there, too, at least until the second Sunday in December, passengers will be able to travel by bus using a railway ticket.
Rybnica–Jelenia Góra – by bus from December 1
The railway line from Jelenia Góra toward Lubań also requires repairs following the flood. Work there will be carried out for two weeks starting December 1. During this period, passengers on the Jelenia Góra–Rybnica section will have to transfer to a bus.
In turn, trains will return to Świeradów-Zdrój from December 1. For that day, the Lower Silesian Roads and Railways Service plans to restore traffic on an approximately three-kilometre section between Orłowice and Świeradów-Zdrój.
From Szklarska Poręba to the Czech Republic by bus for several days
For five days, travellers on the Szklarska Poręba–Tanvald section will have to expect disruptions. From November 11 to 15, buses will operate instead of trains. Replacement transport will be provided for some trains.
– Therefore, before your planned journey, please check the current timetable. From Sunday, some trains will have departure times changed by several or more than ten minutes – reminds Bartłomiej Rodak, press spokesperson for Koleje Dolnośląskie.
Above all, Świeradów-Zdrój and the towns of Ziemia Kłodzka are worth visiting as tourist destinations. These areas suffered during the flood, and tourist facilities were hit by “another wave” – a wave of cancellations. That is why it is worth using the Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket and visiting towns located in the Sudetes.
