On Saturday, November 2, BKS Bolesławiec hosted LZS Kościelnik. It was the first match since the September flood that the Bolesławiec team played at the facility on Rajska Street. Let us recall that the local stadium was flooded. That is why Saturday’s match was announced as a return to Rajska. The return proved successful, although coach Radosław Szajwaj’s players had to work hard for the victory.
The Kościelnik newcomers, coached by Bolesławiec native Daniel Padewski (whose starting lineup included former BKS players known to the fans, Oskar Pochwała and Mateusz Olesiński), defended effectively throughout the first half and part of the second. Despite their apparent advantage, BKS could not put the ball in the net. The Bolesławiec team’s attacks ended around the penalty area. Effective shots were missing.
Only in the second half did the ball twice ripple the net of the visitors’ goal. This happened after BKS captain Jacek Bochnia joined the attack. The player beat the Kościelnik goalkeeper twice, in the 75th and 81st minutes. Late in the match, Kościelnik had a chance of its own. Following an attack by the visitors, a BKS player cleared the ball heading for the goal at the last moment.
It is also worth mentioning that the scorer of both BKS goals is celebrating his birthday today, and the goals he scored today can certainly be treated as gifts for the fans, the club and himself. After the match, his teammates sang the traditional “Happy Birthday”.
BKS Bolesławiec – LZS Kościelnik 2–0 (0–0).
Also on Saturday, BKS’s reserve team played its match in Group III of the A-class. In Mierzwin, BKS II defeated the local LKS 3–0 (0–0).
The goals for BKS were scored by: Kamil Posadowski, Łukasz Kalisz and Marek Majka.
