A Reader called us and informed the editorial office that for 10 years, residents of Kraśnik Dolny have had a problem with the row of poplar trees between Kraśnik and Nowa Wieś. And that for years this has been a “difficult-to-swallow” problem for county officials.

On Sunday, an armageddon swept through Bolesławiec County and one of the aforementioned trees fell onto the road. A woman who was driving there at the time barely managed to stop.

– Branches fall onto cars and properties – our informant listed. They damage roofs and fences. About a year ago, a poplar fell onto a power line, and there was no electricity for two days.

– We are fed up with writing letters – the Reader stated. – The only thing missing is for a tree to kill someone.

He also stressed that the poplars in question had already been marked for felling many months ago, but so far – despite promises from county officials – this has not been done.

As we managed to establish, the trees are to be felled within a month. (All the permits have already been obtained.)
