– Złotoryja police officers received a report of the theft of a pouch containing valuable items. According to information from the 74-year-old victim, the incident occurred at a petrol station in the city centre – reports asp. szt. Monika Kaleta from the Wrocław KWP. – The man left the pouch in the restroom and, forgetting about it, drove away. When he realised that he had forgotten his property, he immediately returned to the scene, but the pouch was no longer there.
Inside were documents, a mobile phone and money: more than PLN 14,000. The victim notified the police.

Złotoryja officers immediately began working on the case. By analysing surveillance-camera footage, they determined that three residents of the city, all well known to them, were suspected of appropriating the pouch. One of them was detained just an hour after the report was received. The other two were detained in the early morning hours.
She adds:
The procedural activities carried out showed that the perpetrator of the misappropriation was a 30-year-old man. While in the restroom, he noticed the pouch, in which he found a substantial sum of money. He did not intend to return it to its owner or inform the station staff. On the contrary, he took the pouch and ran out of the building.
Police recovered the stolen property, including nearly PLN 10,000. The detained 30-year-old was charged with misappropriation of property and possession of methamphetamine. The court will decide his future. He faces up to three years in prison.
