On 3 October 2024, the heroes of the “Saving the Dam” operation met with county authorities at the Lwówek Śląski County Office—Lwówek Starosta Małgorzata Szczepańska and Olgierd Poniźnik, Chairman of the Lwówek County Council. The meeting was also attended by Piotr Roman, Mayor of Bolesławiec, and Tomasz Gabrysiak, Bolesławiec Starosta, who, on behalf of the local community, expressed their gratitude for the invaluable contribution, professionalism and effective actions at Pilchowice Dam.
Those who received a letter of thanks together with a symbolic memento—a Bolesławiec ceramic cup—were:

The meeting provided an opportunity to recall pivotal moments in the history of the dam and the recent dramatic events, as well as information concerning the region’s natural conditions, the occurrence of floods throughout history, water management issues and the undeniable need to develop and implement a comprehensive programme for the Bóbr and Kwisa rivers—following the example of the Odra Programme—which would significantly improve the efficiency of water-resource management, flood-risk management and flood-protection measures.
