Starosta Tomasz Gabrysiak does not hide the fact that he would like the three municipalities that suffered the most in the flood to be taken into consideration by the Council of Ministers.
- We report to the voivode every day on what is happening – says Tomasz Gabrysiak. – We provided data justifying such a decision. Those counties were recognized as being affected by the state of natural disaster only because they were flooded earlier – the starosta says.
On September 17, Donald Tusk decided to extend the territorial scope of the regulation concerning the state of natural disaster.
The counties included in the extension are: Lubań, Dzierżoniów, Świdnica, Opole, Krapkowice, Brzeg and Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
The area affected by the state of natural disaster introduced by the Council of Ministers on Monday included, in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, the counties of Kamienna Góra, Karkonosze, Kłodzko, Lwówek, Wałbrzych and Ząbkowice, as well as the cities with county rights of Wałbrzych and Jelenia Góra;
The prime minister decided to extend it after considering the voivodes’ request and the opinions of the State Fire Service and the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
Should Bolesławiec County also be included in this group?
According to a reader who wrote to us, absolutely.
"I would like to ask for intervention regarding the fact that Bolesławiec is not covered by the state of natural disaster, which means that flood victims who suffered severe losses and have homes requiring renovation cannot count on the same assistance as, for example, residents of Lwówek. How are we worse? Why is Bolesławiec not covered by the state of natural disaster? We were simply flooded one day later than Lwówek."
We invite you to discuss this in the comments.
