The harvest festival in the Nowogrodziec gmina took place on September 8 at the square by the OSP headquarters in Gierałtów.

As reported by the local officials:

The day began with a Harvest Festival Mass at the Parish Church of St. Anthony, while the Gierałtów Parish Schola – Cantate Domine – gave the celebration a special character with its singing.

After the Mass, the Harvest Festival Ceremony took place at the festival grounds. During it, the harvest festival hosts, Patrycja Andruchów and Wojciech Orsa, presented gifts of agricultural produce symbolizing gratitude for this year’s harvest.

In the afternoon, the sounds of the Nowogrodziec Brass Band rang out over Gierałtów, while children from the John Paul II Primary School in Gierałtów presented their talents. The Milikowianki ensemble put everyone in a truly festive harvest mood with its joyful singing and dancing.

In the competition for the most beautiful harvest festival wreath, the Czerna village won, with Gościszów village taking second place and Parzyce village third. In the “Home Harvest Festival Decorations” competition, Agnieszka Gala-Szwed won.

Municipal officials:

The evening began with a concert by Kapela Herbuty, followed by the “Golden Ear of Grain” Harvest Festival Tournament, which was won by Czerna village. The Zagajnik – Wykroty ensemble got the audience dancing, the Gierałtów Parish Schola – Cantate Domine once again delighted everyone with its singing, and then the festivities continued with a concert by the Bajeranty ensemble. The harvest festival ended with a dance party featuring music by Kapela Na Wesoło. Zagajnik village was drawn as the host of next year’s municipal harvest festival.
