“Is this some kind of punishment?” That is the question one might ask when following fuel prices at stations in Bolesławiec. Fuel prices in our city have simply gone crazy. Although prices here have recently edged down by a few groszy, in the surrounding counties fuel is still cheaper by 20 to as much as 70 groszy per liter.

Even right at the border with Germany, prices are several dozen groszy lower than in Bolesławiec. Readers report that fuel is now also cheaper in Germany than in Bolesławiec.

The average retail price of diesel fell by 6 groszy per liter in the last week of August, to PLN 6.27 per liter, making diesel the cheapest it has been since October 2023. Since the beginning of the summer holidays, diesel has fallen in price by 22 groszy per liter.

Pb95 petrol prices fell by 5 groszy per liter over the week, to an average of PLN 6.26 per liter. The national average petrol price is at its lowest since mid-January this year. Autogas prices remained unchanged at PLN 2.83 per liter.

— reported on August 30 by Reflex, a company that monitors fuel prices in Poland, among other things.

Meanwhile, looking at average fuel prices in individual voivodeships, published by the Auto Centrum website, we cannot find a voivodeship where the average price was the same as at most stations in Bolesławiec. The petrol 95 and diesel prices listed there are lower. See for yourselves.

E-petrol, another service dealing, among other things, with fuel prices, forecasts retail prices at stations from September 2 to 8. According to these forecasts, 95 petrol should cost from PLN 6.12 to PLN 6.25 per liter, while diesel should cost from PLN 6.16 to PLN 6.28. It is just a shame that this does not apply to our city.
