Reader:
Today I witnessed human indifference. I was driving from Bolesławiec to Grodziec through Raciborowice. An unconscious man was lying on the pavement near the turn-off to the stadium. People walked over him, while others drove past and looked. No one stopped or checked what was wrong with him. A silver Peugeot was driving ahead of me. The driver stopped, blocked the road, checked whether the man was alive, and called for help and an ambulance.
After a while, another car arrived—a black BMW—and a man got out. As I later learned, he was a firefighter. He turned around to provide assistance. The young man from the Peugeot had already called for help, and together with the firefighter he blocked the road so that the unconscious man would not be run over. Young people do have a conscience and know how to behave (...).
A medical rescue team arrived at the scene and attended to the man lying there.
According to the reader, the man has health problems and needed help.
