At last week's meeting in Wrocław, directors of the Voivodeship Crisis Management Department, the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, and the Regional Water Management Authority took part. The Voivodeship Commander of the State Fire Service and the Head of the Voivodeship Military Staff were also present.

The flood risk arose due to rising air temperatures and the rapid melting of accumulated snow. For now, the Bóbr River remains calm, although the water level is elevated.

To assess the situation in the field, the Deputy Voivode ordered Crisis Response Teams to be convened in the district offices. They are to assess the scale of the flood risks in the voivodeship.

The Deputy Voivode also instructed the relevant services to monitor water levels in rivers and reservoirs.

The reservoirs have already been partially emptied and are ready to receive a greater volume of water. This will help safely convey the flood peak and prevent the formation of ice jams.

If necessary, in addition to civil defense, the fire service, the military, and the police will also be placed on standby.
