On Monday, July 8, near Godzieszów on the A4 motorway, inspectors from the Jelenia Góra branch of the Lower Silesian Road Transport Inspection conducted a roadside check using a mobile diagnostic line.
Inspection:
The vehicle inspected was an Iveco with a gross vehicle weight of 3,500 kg, used for international transport for the company’s own needs by a company from Greater Poland Voivodeship. The vehicle was returning “empty” from Germany.
It adds: – During the inspection, a fault was found in the braking system—the auxiliary and service brakes on the second axle were defective. In addition, the tyre on the second axle had excessively worn tread.
But that was not the end of it. Road Transport Inspection: – The condition of the inspected vehicle’s control arm caused considerable astonishment—the damaged control arm had been provisionally welded. To conceal the “professional” repair and make it unnoticeable, the weld had been covered with a layer of thick paint or filler. The inspectors did not appreciate the creative ingenuity of the makeshift repair.
And it concludes: – Considering the vehicle’s technical condition, which posed a threat to the safety of road users, the inspectors confiscated the vehicle’s registration certificate and prohibited the driver from continuing to drive. The driver was fined for operating an unroadworthy vehicle.
