The first KD Premium Nadmorski train departed from Wrocław for Świnoujście on Saturday, June 21, at 6:44 a.m., with a full complement of passengers on board. For the next two services, on June 29 and July 6, the company will therefore provide two coupled five-car Impuls 2 trains. This will double the number of seats to exactly 498. Trains to the Baltic Sea depart from Wrocław on Saturday mornings, while on Sundays they offer a convenient return journey home. Importantly, this is a direct connection, so there is no need to change trains or carry luggage from one train to another. The train connection from Lower Silesia to the seaside will operate through August 31. Trains will run every weekend, as well as on August 15.

– I encourage people to choose the train for their holiday journeys. Rail is one of the safest means of transport, while our regional carrier’s vehicles are modern, comfortable and eco-friendly. In addition, Koleje Dolnośląskie trains can take us to the seaside in record time. Last year’s success of this connection, used by more than 7,000 people, shows that Lower Silesian residents are keen to travel to the seaside with Koleje Dolnośląskie, while residents of the West Pomeranian and Lubusz voivodeships also visit our beautiful region – says Paweł Gancarz, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

The KD Premium Nadmorski train can reach the Baltic Sea not only from Wrocław. The train also stops in Legnica, Lubin, Głogów, Zielona Góra, Szczecin Dąbie and Międzyzdroje. The connection debuted during the 2023 holiday season. More than 7,000 passengers used it at the time. The occupancy rate reached nearly 90 percent.

– Regional rail in Lower Silesia is developing extremely dynamically. In our voivodeship, we are carrying out a project unprecedented in the country in terms of scale: taking over out-of-service railway lines, revitalizing them and restoring passenger services on them. Koleje Dolnośląskie are purchasing modern and eco-friendly trains to operate routes that continue to grow in number. In recent years, a quarter of a million Lower Silesian residents regained access to rail after more than 20 years. What is most pleasing is that passengers see and appreciate the efforts of the voivodeship authorities and Koleje Dolnośląskie. Travelers recognized our voivodeship as providing the best regional connections in Poland – says Michał Rado, Deputy Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

In addition to operating services in the region, Koleje Dolnośląskie also recognize the need to provide better connections between Poland’s most popular tourist destinations and historic centers—especially during the holiday season, when the greatest number of people travel around the country. Koleje Dolnośląskie are already planning to carry passengers to Warsaw, for example. For now, the regional carrier’s trains run to Świnoujście.

– A simple example: there are 13 pairs of direct connections between Wrocław and Warsaw. In Germany, the number of daily connection pairs between Berlin and Munich, the country’s third-largest city, is 25 – explains Damian Stawikowski, president of Koleje Dolnośląskie.
