The incident occurred on June 14, before 11:00 a.m., in the Königshainer Berge tunnel on the A4. As eluban.pl reports:
It was initially reported that an accident had occurred, as a result of which a truck caught fire. However, the available recordings of the incident show only a smoking truck.
Fortunately, the driver was not seriously injured. The Lubań-based outlet reported: – Drivers traveling through the tunnel at that time left their vehicles and used the emergency exits to move to the other tunnel bore. The fire service reported that it was evacuating people from the smoke-filled tunnel and estimated that there were around 200 of them.
